I might be interested in roads, video, photography and the web, but my career lies in another direction: radio. I spent three years studying radio production at the University of Chester and now I work for a certain well-known organisation involved with British Broadcasting. In this section, I intend to explain why it interests me, and also showcase a few bits and pieces of my radio work to date.
Most of the stuff below is from either University coursework or student radio. I'd like to share some of the stuff I now do for a living, but it presents some problems. The things I made in my first job are suitable for uploading to a website, but I can't do that because I don't own the copyright. The stuff I now do involves working the controls live on air and it's hard to put that into a downloadable audio file.
So, until I think of something else to put here, enjoy the following out-of-date student radio things!
Produced for my final-year portfolio, these are pretty much the culmination of my degree programme. A series of four short documentary/feature programmes looking at transport in the UK and answering the question "where did it all go wrong?". They are each ten minutes long and cover road, rail, air and urban transport respectively. You can download them in order below.
